Most stacking questions I get about Mind Lab Pro are really one question: am I doubling up? And the answer is usually yes.
It covers 8 bases already. So before you add anything, check the label. Find out whether the thing you’re about to buy is already in there at a smaller dose. Usually it is (and then you’re paying twice for a worse version).
Here’s what I’ll cover:
- The 3 additions that genuinely don’t overlap
- What to top up rather than add, and why that’s different
- The stacks that are just expensive duplication
- The 2 combinations I’d actually be careful with
Three things that don’t overlap at all
Start with what’s missing from the label, because that’s where the value is.
Omega-3. There’s no DHA or EPA in this formula. None at all. And your brain is largely made of the stuff. So if you don’t eat oily fish a couple of times a week, this is the best thing to add, and it isn’t close. I take one daily and have for years.
Creatine. Nothing in the formula touches it. 5 g a day, cheap as anything, and honestly the cognitive research on it is more interesting than most nootropics manage. Especially if you’re vegetarian or short on sleep.
Vitamin D. Not in there either. If you live somewhere with a real winter, get your level checked and fix it. A deficiency flattens your mood and focus more than any capsule here will lift them.
None of these are exciting. All 3 are better buys than a second nootropic.

Topping up beats adding
Then there’s a middle category that people get wrong.
Take rhodiola. There’s 50 mg in the formula, a quarter of the bottom of the studied range. So if you want the fatigue effect, don’t add a different adaptogen. Add more rhodiola. And count both sources.
Same with bacopa at 150 mg against the 300 mg the trials used. Same with theanine at 100 mg if you drink big coffees. That’s topping up a known shortfall, not stacking something new, and it’s a much better use of $20.
The rule is: read the label first, find the number, then decide whether you’re filling a gap or duplicating.

The duplication traps
Now the ones that waste money.
Buying a second multi-ingredient nootropic is the big one. Two “complete” formulas overlap on 5 or 6 ingredients. And now you’ve no idea what dose of anything you’re on. If you’re going to run 2 products, at least add up their numbers.
Buying a separate citicoline is usually pointless. 250 mg here is already a studied dose.
And a lot of “focus” products are mostly caffeine with a bit of theanine. You already have the theanine. Buy coffee.

Two combinations I’d be careful with
Two, and I’d take these seriously rather than treat them as small print.
The first is stimulants plus the rhodiola, if you’re sensitive. It’s only 50 mg, but stacked on a pre-workout and a couple of coffees, some people get jittery and sleep badly. That’s usually a timing problem more than a dose problem.
The second matters more. There’s 175 mg of tyrosine in a serving, and tyrosine is a precursor to thyroid hormone and to dopamine. So if you take thyroid medication, or an MAOI, or anything working on dopamine, that’s a conversation with your pharmacist. Not something to work out from a blog. I’m not a doctor and I won’t pretend the internet is one.
Same goes if you’re on blood thinners or antidepressants. Ask first. It costs you one phone call.

Conclusion
Add omega-3, creatine and vitamin D, because none of them are in the formula and all 3 are cheap. Top up rhodiola or bacopa if you want the effects those are known for, since both sit under the studied dose here.
Don’t run 2 complete nootropics at once, don’t buy separate citicoline, and check with a pharmacist before mixing the tyrosine with thyroid or dopamine medication.
That would be it folks. If you’re running a stack that works, post it in the comments with the doses. Doses, not brand names.
